Chirp, chirp is really ribbet, ribbet

Wow, do I feel dumb! In the evenings I have been enjoying what I thought were the wonderful trilling of birds nesting as they settled down for the night, then someone corrected me by telling me they were tree frogs, not birds. I was surprised [again, I felt so dumb!], because in all my years we've never had tree frogs in our yard, and they sound like birds.

Well of course to hammer in the truth, I came across this little guy lounging in the rhodedendron. He doesn't seem to care that I was in his face taking pics of him, but he is looking at me with a wary eye. LOL!

Ribbet, ribbet,

  1. I spent some time in Northern Wisconsin for a few summers and I thought the sound I was hearing was birds, too. It was frogs. They do kind of sound alike until someone tells you the sound you think is birds is really frogs and then you can't believe you ever thought it came from birds. In other words, I get it!
